Chorus Investor Centre
Chorus is New Zealand's largest telecommunications utility company and is included in the NZX 10 Index comprising New Zealand's 10 largest domestic companies listed in the NZX 50.
We maintain and build a network predominantly made up of local telephone exchanges, cabinets and copper and fibre cables, with approximately 1.8 million lines connecting homes and businesses. A range of service providers use our network to deliver their phone and internet services to New Zealanders.
Right now, we're laying thousands of kilometres of fibre optic cable along streets to extend the reach of ultra-fast broadband capability to approximately 830,000 homes and businesses by the end of 2019. We're also taking fibre to rural schools and enhancing the rural broadband network with fibre-fed cabinets and broadband equipment as part of the Government's Rural Broadband Initiative. Find out more in our Where no Kiwi has gone before video.
Chorus was established as an independent business from 1 December 2011, following its demerger from Telecom Corporation of New Zealand Limited.
